About me and my practice

I have experienced difficulties in personal therapy and wanted to offer something to neurodiverse individuals that had been let down by a system of oppression, typical therapy services don't work well with target's/demand's placed upon neurodiverse individuals.

This in effect can become incredibly harmful to the individual seeking therapy. Trust is eroded and hope extinguished.
I want to offer the opposite, a therapy space which is effective, accommodating and robust.

I've been a therapist for 6 years working in NHS/Schools and hospices and a supervisor for 2 years privately.

I'm a magpie when it comes to 'special interest' the human is my special interest, so if there is anything I don't know (which is a lot), I will seek supervision and find someone who can show me.

I read a lot, I engage in above average amounts of CPD yearly and I'm always adding new things to my ways of working but at the root of it all; I hold that my clients are the expert, and I can help unpick what may be stifling you.

I am not diagnostic - you are you and I accept you where you currently are.

my practice is relaxed, engaging, challenging with the right amount of nurture. I offer a non-judgemental space for you to explore your current difficulty in.

I'm pluralistic in nature which means I will draw upon many modalities which may be beneficial to you, this will always be a collaborative endeavour nothing will be done to you and your engagement is encouraged. Eventually you will leave therapy when you feel ready to go forward by yourself, comfortably.

As a therapist I live by self-acceptance, feeling empowered; and work closely to ensure this throughout my work with clients.

I'm psychedelic informed and am aware of how to integrate this into your therapeutic space.

Experience

I volunteered in a hospice whilst training in 2018, where I worked with clients who had lost people to various illness, suicide and life expiration. I offered group work and one to one. One to one was open ended and I really appreciate this way of working, it allows a slow percolation of change - it enables a deep relationship to be grown and be tended to.
I've never been a fan of group work and this was never something I pursued after this experience.

I worked closely with Place2Be in schools offering therapy to primary aged children - I loved it but life circumstances meant I had to stop volunteering and begin making money.

My therapeutic experience is rich and varied working in fast paced and slower paced work spaces to the benefit of my case load.
